The Description
With these funds I would like to purchase a Breakout EDU Kit. This kit will allow for students to experience the real life escape rooms that are the big thing amongst adults, but in the classroom environment. The goal is for students to use clues that are based on mathematical and other educational skills that have been used in the classroom. They will collaborate with small teams to get to the big clue as a class and unlock the box to reveal a small prize. This will challenge students to recall previous lessons from class as well as use critical thinking to solve a series of steps. I personally have borrowed another teachers kit and my students were hooked. They continued to ask when we would be doing another one. I would love to be able to do a breakout box every other week in my classroom. The beauty about purchasing the kit is that you get access to over 250+ already created break out sessions. Back Up Plan
If we do not reach our goal I have 2 options. The first option is that if we were close enough and I personally could afford the remaining amount needed, I would put that money in and purchase the kit. The second option would be to use the funds that I receive and purchase a tool box and as many locks as I could afford to make my own homemade kit. Below is an image of a homemade kit that could be used with the Breakout EDU tasks. The only thing I would have to do is then create my own problems for them to solve.
