Organize, provide resources to, and support students in our school's very first geography team!

About our school...

KIPP Liberation College Preparatory is a middle school in Houston's Third Ward community. At Liberation, we believe that no matter the zip code, students of diverse backgrounds should have equal access to a quality education. Leaders in the past have worked hard to organize annual spelling bees and science fairs, and it's time for us to have our first school-wide geography bee! 

Why we need the funds..

As our school's social studies department chair and 6th grade world geo teacher, I need your help to set our kids up for success. By the time they arrive to middle school, many of our kiddos have little-no experience in reading maps and atlases, not to mention social studies classes in general. At the beginning of the year, I plan to organize a school-wide geography team that will study, learn, and collaborate together in order to become geography masters! These kids have the skills and the smarts, they simply need the resources. It is important that I provide each team member with a copy of their own study guide so that they can use it at school and at home.

$200 away from traveling the world...

Someday, their roads will lead to college.

Someday, they will travel throughout the world.

Someday, they will make a difference.

But their first steps start now.
