With these funds I will attend the ISTE conference 2015 in Philadelphia. The International Society for Technology in Education brings educators, experts and leaders together to transform education, using technology. The school district where I currently work has an opportunity to roll out 1:1 student devices next fall. This is met with mixed emotions from the staff and community. Some see it as a great opportunity, some see it as a burden and huge challenge. I am welcoming the 1:1 devices in my classroom with open arms. I have seen the way that students can interact with technology and how it can drive their education to new levels. Attending the ISTE conference would give me ideas and inspiration on how I can use technology in my classroom and in our school district.

The community, in which I work, is stricken with poverty. We have a high percentage of students who receive free and reduced lunch. Having 1:1 technology will give my students the opportunity to push themselves and grow to new heights. However without proper training, these goals and aspirations might not be met. Attending the ISTE conference will give me the knowledge to provide my students with the very best education by using technology in my curriculum. 

The funds that I raise with the cause would pay for my registration and travel expenses.
