About

Ad Prima Charter School recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each child. The school's primary mission is to foster a love of learning in each student. Our curriculum skillfully weaves artistic and practical disciplines into everyday academics. Students learn to follow their curiosity, to think creatively, and to work both independently and cooperatively with others. We celebrate diversity and strive to instill integrity, compassion and confidence in each child. We give each child support and encouragement to become his or her own unique self. Ad Prima Charter School students tackle academic curriculum in ways that are engaging, meaningful and adaptable to a variety of learning styles and fun. We're prepared to meet the educational needs of all elementary school children in grades Kindergarten through Eight. Named a Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education in 2009, Ad Prima has one key goal: to prepare students for high school, college, & the world.

3rd grade teacher/ STEM Coach

“Find out what your students cherish, use that to help them see what their best looks like.” That’s the counsel and charge given to me by Ms. Susan Woods, my 3rd grade teacher, who told me that I would be a teacher after catching me walking around the class imitating her. My predominantly Black & Latino students are rich in personality, talent, humor, storytelling, & overall creative ability. What they lack has been exposure to "hands-on, minds-on", interactive learning in STEM classrooms.
