Wylie, Texas

About

For more than 100 years the Wylie Independent School District has emphasized academic excellence through outstanding educational opportunities and award-winning extracurricular activities, all based on community values. And as we continue through the 21st Century, we remain focused on ensuring our students are prepared for a lifetime of success through a world-class education.

All 19 Wylie ISD campuses have met the State’s highest academic standards, with more than half earning additional distinctions. In addition, Wylie ISD students boast scores above state and national averages on SAT and ACT college entrance exams. Based on their performance on the PSAT exam, the District annually lists students in the National Merit Scholarship Program. We also posted the largest gains of any large district on the state’s assessment test, STAAR, and have been hailed as the “Star of the STAAR.” Recently, Wylie ISD was one of just 12 districts statewide (and just 529 nationwide) to be named to the College Board Advanced Placement Honor Roll.

The Wylie ISD is home to approximately 14,500 students and continues to grow at an average of three percent per year. Students and staff conduct themselves according to “the Wylie Way,” the District’s nationally recognized values and character education program. The district serves Wylie as well as portions Murphy, Sachse, St. Paul and Lavon.
