About
The mission of the Dickinson Independent School District is to ensure that all students have successful learning opportunities that help them reach their full potential and add quality throughout their lives.
In 1952 Bacliff Elementary School was built on the current site with only a few classrooms, an office area, and a cafetorium. In 1972 two more wings were built and the cafetorium became the campus library. The first principal at Bacliff Elementary School was Mr. Corona. In 1973, Bacliff Elementary School was renamed Kenneth E. Little Elementary School. The campus was named for Mr. Kenneth Little who was a refinery worker and long time school board member as well as a regular volunteer for the HOST and CHAMPS Programs at KELES. Our current beautiful building was constructed in 2001 after tearing down all but the K Wing of the original building. Sadly, Mr. Little did not live to see the new building, but his desire to build the best education for students in the Bacliff area lives on in the manner that the community utilizes, supports, and cares for KELES.
