About

Kingsbury Middle School is located in the Graham Heights neighborhood in Memphis, TN and is part of the Shelby County School District. "Graham Heights is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Memphis, with a demographic makeup of approximately 30% Hispanic, 20% White, 20% Black, and 30% identifying their race as “Other.” The community has a growing sense of uneasiness, however, due to an increase in families living under the poverty line (32%), as well as an increase in gang activity and urban blight (16.62%)." However, numerous neighbors and community organizations are striving to tap into the inherent beauty, diversity, and collaborative atmosphere in the community to improve Kingsbury Middle School, and the teachers are committed to seeing their students flourish in every way.

Mrs. Ross explains why working at Kingsbury Middle means so much to her:
"I feel blessed to be a member of the Kingsbury family. This opportunity has allowed me to work with a phenomenal group of young people. Their hard work and dedication keeps pushing me to become a better teacher each and every day! Kingsbury continues to improve with every year, and this year is going to be the best year ever! We have an incredible staff that is ready to engage studentsin the most honorable work. We have parents that are committed to creating pathways of opportunities for their students. We have students that are excited and eager to learn. This is why I teach, this is why I wake-up each and every morning ready to take on the world with my students."
