About
KIPP Indy was founded in 2004 with one class of fifth grade students and has grown to serve students across two schools. KIPP Indy College Prep Middle serves students in grades 5-8 and KIPP Indy Unite Elementary opened in 2014 with 100 kindergarten students and will continue to grow one grade per year, ultimately serving students in grades K-4. We plan to grow KIPP’s network of schools in Indianapolis to a total of five schools by 2021, serving 2,500 students in grades K-12.
KIPP Indy exists to provide a college preparatory education for students and to set them on the path to and through college. We offer extensive services and support through the KIPP Through College program. KIPP Through College supports KIPP Indy alumni on their journey to a college degree, helping them navigate the application process, access financial aid, connect to summer internships, and build the advocacy and decision-making skills needed to persist and graduate.

KIPP Indianapolis
Director of Development & External Relations; General Counsel
KIPP, the Knowledge is Power Program, is a national network of free, open-enrollment, public charter schools dedicated to preparing students in underserved communities with the knowledge, skills, and character they need to succeed in college and the competitive world beyond. Nationally, KIPPsters graduate from college at a rate 400% higher than students from low income communities. This achievement stems from a core belief that demographics do not define destiny; through rigorous academics and character development our results are showing that neither our zip code nor the ones of our students determines their ability to succeed. We measure our success not by how our students finish 8th grade, but by the rate at which they graduate from college. No other program in the city maintains relationships and offers resources to its students for the 8-9 years following 8th grade to ensure that they have everything they need to graduate from college.

Jeremy Hall
7th grade social studies
7th grade Social Studies teacher at KIPP Indy College Prep Middle School as part of my graduate program through Marian University and Indianapolis Teaching Fellows. I have been blessed to work directly with students that 99% earn free breakfast/lunch. I continuously work hard to ensure they learn the importance of taking ownership of their academic and behavioral choices. Our efforts will give each student the opportunity to exceed all expectations.
