About

Plymouth Center is a K - 5 elementary school. Plymouth Center School, a unique learning community, strives to awaken the natural curiosity and love of learning in all of our students while providing a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment. We are committed to each and every child, affording them their right to learn and achieve their highest level of proficiency in essential academic, technological, and artistic skills, while fostering respect and social, emotional, creative, and physical development. Our diverse learning environment affords everyone the opportunity to maximize their potential toward the ultimate goal of living a purposeful, contributing, and fulfilling life. The staff of Plymouth Center School is committed to the process of school improvement. As part of our commitment, we have several active staff committees that engage in reflection on Best Practices - particularly in the areas of curriculum development, instructional planning, effective assessment, differentiated instruction, and inclusion. These discussions take place as part of our EIP Core Team, Strategic Planning Committee, Common Grade Level and Team Meetings, and our Teachers as Readers Committee. The Teacher as Readers Committee, now numbering at 19, is a particular source of pride to our school. The reading and subsequent reflection has sparked incredible professional growth among staff.

Teacher

I am a first grade teacher and I absolutely love my job and my students! I enjoy bringing learning to life in my classroom and giving my students unique opportunities for learning! Thanks for looking and supporting my ideas!

Melissa Morelli

Grade 2 teacher

I am a second grade teacher in a small town in Connecticut. This is my 12th year of teaching and I love every year more than the previous. I love to teach my students using the most current and effective tools so I can better reach each and every one of my students. I am a life learner and every year great with the mentality that this year I will learn something new and pass it along to my students.

Jane Rossi

Reading Specialist

I am a reading interventionist/specialist currently. I have been teaching elementary grades for the last 25 years and love what I do. I find great joy in helping children learn to read, even the most reluctant. The smile on their faces when they have reached a milestone they never thought they could or would is by far all the motivation I need to keep doing what I do. I see all levels of readers in grades K-2.

Chris Greaney

Special Education

I am a Special Education teacher of students with varying disabilities. My students range from Prek-5th graders. I work on many different type of skills, academic, self help and life skills with the students. My program is called APPLE/A Primary Program of Learning Experiences. The program encompasses all types of disabilities. I have taught in this program for seventeen years at Plymouth Center School. I have a group of wonderful para-educators who work with me daily to help my students become all that they can be. My motto is "Never Say Never",
