San Jacinto Leadership Academy exists to educate, train and inspire its students (cadets) in such a way so that each cadet becomes a recognized leader of character dedicated to the Core Values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment and is prepared to aggressively continue their journey towards a career of professional excellence and service to the community and country.
We educate with high-quality learning opportunities, build self-discipline through a structured, positive environment, and inspire our cadets through professional, mentoring relationships. 6th grade teacher math/science
I am a 6th grade teacher at a leadership magnet school. I am finishing up my 4th year as a teacher. I have mostly taught just math and science but one thing that I stand out for is creating videos of math content for the students (and caregivers) so that they are able to review as many times as necessary to understand the comment. I use a "flipped learning" model where these videos are used as instruction at home and when the students come in the next day the feedback allows me to see which students I need to help and what students I can group together for practice or tutoring.
