The STEM Magnet Academy (STEM) opened in September of 2011, with 220 students in grades K-3. One grade level was added each year until STEM reacher 8th grade. Currently, there are over 400 students in grades K-8 attending STEM.
STEM is the first K-8 magnet school in the city of Chicago to offer STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) as its programmatic focus.
