Union County Public Schools (UCPS) is the sixth largest public school system in North Carolina. It serves approximately nearly 42,000 students at 53 schools and has approximately 5,000 staff members.

UCPS is home to three national Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. Additionally, during the 2017-18 school year, nearly 70 percent of UCPS schools earned an A or B School Performance Grade from the NC Department of Public Instruction.
