Privacy Policy

Dated October 12, 2021

PledgeCents (“Company”) is committed to protecting your privacy. We have prepared this Privacy Policy to describe to you our practices regarding the Personal Data (as defined below) we collect from users of our website, located at [www.PledgeCents.com], (“Pages”) and Services (as defined in the Terms of Use). Our Pages are intended for users who are working for/with a US-based organization (i.e. school, non-profit, after-school program, etc).

Updates to Our Privacy Policy

PledgeCents may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, PledgeCents will indicate the modification change date in the “Changes to our Privacy Policy” date above this section. Your use of our website after a modification of our Privacy Policy indicates your consent to such modification.

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes and governs how we collect, use, share and protect information collected in the context of our Pages. Before you use or submit any information through or in connection with the Pages, please carefully review this Policy. By using any part of the Pages, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as outlined in this Policy. To the extent allowed by law, the English version of this Policy is binding and other translations are for convenience only.

Collection and Use of Your Information

Information Collection and Use

We may collect Personal Data from you, such as your first and last name, email and password when you create an account to log in to our network (“Account”). If you choose to contribute to PledgeCents or are a user who registers for a creator account, we will collect, use, and share your information in the following ways and as otherwise described under "How we share and disclose your information" below.

Investors

We collect the following information when you sign up for a investor account on our Pages or contribute to a project:

First name, last name, email address: When you contribute, we will create an internal account profile with your name and email address so that we attribute current and future contributions properly to you. We use this information to correspond with you regarding transactional activity, which may include confirmation emails, receipts, and updates on fundraisers you have funded.

We do not share any personal information with any outside party (first name, last name, email address) that we receive upon your contribution.

Payment information: We use the payment information you enter to process transactions according to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Credit card payments are processed by a third-party provider (currently Stripe) and are governed by the third-party provider’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Your credit card or ACH information is never retained on our servers.

If you choose to contribute through a fundraising page, the contribution amount will be shared with the fundraising page creator.

Public Comments:

You can post comments with other users through PledgeCents. Any content, including such comments that you choose to post on PledgeCents will be reviewed by our team initially before being approved. Once approved, the comments are available to the public. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information for both us and other users to use and share. Take care not to share personal data unless you intend for that data to become public. Please also be considerate and respectful of others while using the community to share your opinions. We reserve the right to remove postings or content that may be viewed as inappropriate or offensive to others.

Page Creators

We collect the following information when you sign up for a creator account on our Pages and start a fundraising page. Creators who make contributions will also be required to share the information listed under the “Investors” section above.

First name, last name, and organization information: Publicly, we’ll use the display name you choose to share along with your organization name and location. This publicly displayed name will be treated as non-confidential, and be used to identify your fundraisers on PledgeCents and through any of our social media sharing tools.

We’ll use your full name to send emails to you when a fundraising page is completed, and may share your full name with your organization administrator to confirm that you are eligible to use PledgeCents.

Email address: We use your email address to set up your account, through which you can access creator-specific services such as submitting a fundraiser. We also use it to correspond with you regarding your fundraiser(s) and use of our Pages and contact you about special funding opportunities.

Optional Information for Investors & Creators

We may also collect the following information from you should you choose to share it with us.

  • Fundraiser and profile photos: Everyone has the option to submit a profile photo. Creators can also choose to submit a photo to represent their fundraiser (i.e. classroom picture, material picture, etc). These photos are displayed to all visitors to our Pages, and photos will appear as the thumbnail for the fundraiser when the fundraiser is shared using social media sharing tools. We require that you obtain prior, written permission from the parent or legal guardian of each child for any photos that include images of children, and present those documents to PledgeCents upon request at any time.
  • Password: You can always log into your account through the password you set up for your account. We will never share your password, and you agree to not share it, too.

  • With your consent or as we may describe to you when you provide the information; and
  • As permissible under applicable laws and regulations.

If you create an account, we will indicate which portion of the information you provide will be made public and offer options for you to control how much information is disclosed. In cases where we share your information with third parties (e.g., your employer, or website analytics service provider), our Privacy Policy does not govern the privacy practices of such third parties, and we ask that you refer to their respective privacy policies for details on their use of your information.

Protecting Your Information

PledgeCents is committed to protecting the security of your Personal Data. We use a variety of industry-standard security technologies and procedures to help protect your Personal Data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We also require you to enter a password to access your Account information. Please do not disclose your account password to unauthorized people. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while PledgeCents uses reasonable efforts to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Protecting Children’s Privacy

We do not intentionally gather Personal Data from visitors who are under the age of 13, and children under 13 are prohibited from using our service. If you believe that we may have any information collected from a child under the age of 13, please contact us at info@PledgeCents.com.

Data Retention

We retain Personal Data only as long as we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (i.e. to provide you with a service or to comply with legal or tax requirements). At your request, we will delete your Personal Data or anonymize it so that it no longer identifies you, unless otherwise required by law.

Third-Party Websites

When you click on a link to any other website or location, you will leave our Pages and go to another site and another entity may collect Personal Data or Anonymous Data from you. We have no control over, do not review, and cannot be responsible for, these outside websites or their content. Please be aware that the terms of this Privacy Policy do not apply to these outside websites or content, or to any collection of data after you click on links to such outside websites.
