With these funds I will be able to supply teachers with essential furniture needs so they may do their job more effectively. The student desk in the picture represents where one of my teachers currently places her laptop while it's connected to the Promethean board. She doesn't particularly like having to sit when navigating her computer while teaching because she can't monitor the classroom as well as she could if she were standing. It's a challenge for an adult body to fit in those desks, and let's face it, when you're seated you're more likely to get tired, especially when working long teacher hours.

Guided reading is an essential tool in aiding children to develop stronger reading skills. Many teachers prefer the use of a kidney shaped table because it allows them to observe what each child is doing while simultaneously providing one on one instruction. This is also beneficial for children because they are able to observe their peers' reading habits and it keeps them focused on the teacher who is directly in front of them. 

The file cabinet will assist teachers in maintaining organized student files.
