The Description
As a teacher, I want to provide all of my students with excellent learning opportunities. For my kinesthetic learners these opportunities are a little more difficult to come by. That is why I want to create a makerspace in my classroom. This area will be stocked with different materials and supplies that will allow students to engage with their learning materials and build critical thinking skills. With the funds that are raised, I will be able to purchase the following items to kick off my makerspace:
- Glue (6 count) - $10
- Colored Duct Tape (18 rolls) - $20
- 4 packs of toothpicks (500 count) - $12
- 2 packs of craft sticks (1000 count) - $16
- 4 packs of colored construction paper (500 count) - $40
- Crazy scissors (12 count) - $16
- Brad fasteners (500 count) - $9
- Colored yarn (40 count) - $20
- Assorted pipe cleaners (1000 count) - $15
- Lego Classic Creative Brick Box - $26
Back Up Plan
If I do not meet my goal, I will use the funds raised to purchase as many supplies for my classroom makerspace as possible.

I have returned to the classroom after 12 years and I teach 1st grade in a Title 1 Elementary School in Humble, Texas. After 12 years in a career as a high-end wedding and event planner, I could not be more excited to sprinkle excitement, creativity, and motivation into our first grade program.
Our first grade team consists of 6 classrooms- 19-21 children per classroom. They are lively, vivacious children with stars in their eyes. We are teaching them to reach for the moon!
