Treasures In A Box

The Description

With these funds I will purchase items to place in the Treasure Box in my classroom. Students are able to select items from the Treasure Box as a reward for positive character, assisting their Brother without being asked, performing acts of kindness, and academic performance. The Treasure Box serves as a tool to motivate students to exhibit the positive character traits we instill in them on a daily basis. Though we want them to get to a place where they don't need a reward, being rewarded doesn't hurt. Oftentimes in school negative behavior is the highlight of the day. When students know they are going to be praised and acknowledged for doing the right thing they are more likely to live out the values of our school.

Also, we have fierce academic competitions between the colleges, and while winning is usually enough, there's nothing like a little extrinsic motivation to get the boys really invested. The Treasure Box is also used to reward our avid, consistent readers. Children want to be praised and rewarded for their efforts even if it's what they should be doing, like reading. The thing is they're still kids. And kids like stuff. Especially sports related things for the boys.

Items I'd purchase for The Treasure Box are:

Anything Texans (like the lanyard the young man is sporting in the picture)

Nike/Addidas wristbands

Books!

NBA/NFL/College Arm Sleeves

Mechanical Pencils

I'd most likely use Amazon to purchase these items because I have Prime.

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase what I can with the money that is raised. My principal is extremely supportive and rewards his team for attempting to meet him halfway. I'd most likely purchase less expensive items on my own; which I already do.

We are so grateful for all that you've done for our boys. All the investments help keep the boys excited about learning and earning. They are especially grateful as you can see from the pictures recently uploaded. Again, many thanks!
