Help us Help Others: BP MS 150 Challenge

The Description

With these funds I will...cover the cost of MS 150 registration, food and transportation for 11 participants, including 8 high school students and 3 adult chaperones.

Last year a group of students decided to take on an amazing challenge: to raise money for MS research by competing in the BP MS 150 challenge from Houston to Austin. Multiple sclerosis is a disease within the central nervous system that causes the immune system to attack the tissue of a healthy individual. This challenge includes a 2-day bike race, covering 150 miles and all money raised goes directly to MS research.  They trained for months, raised money for bikes and all registration and finished the race. This was an amazing feat for anyone, especially for high school students.

This year, we have a dedicated group of 8 seniors and 3 staff members at our school, KIPP Houston High School. Again, we wake up early on Saturdays to practice, fundraise through school and seek donations for additional bikes and accessories. The students are so committed to this team effort, and we would all appreciate any donation that can be provided to help us complete the challenge!

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase...as many registrations for our participants, food and transportation for our team.
