It is critically important that my students have daily access to high quality technology in order to successfully prepare for the 21st Century. Without daily access, my students aren’t able to take advantage of the amazing digital opportunities that are available to them. This includes everything from high quality content that helps them improve their reading fluency to programs that promotes computer programming skills. These are just a few of the reasons why I want to purchase Chromebooks for my students.
With Chromebooks in our classroom, my students will have daily access the internet and all of the learning apps that they normally use in the computer lab only once a week. This will allow them to have a high quality technology center in the classroom for the first time. Through Best Buy Education I can purchase Chromebooks for my students at a discounted rate and also receive free shipping. Your generous investment to our fundraiser will open a world of opportunities for my students that they will not soon forget. Back Up Plan
If we do not reach our goal I will purchase nothing. My budget dones not have any money for extras. I will just use my 10 computers that I have in my library classroom. We are switching to a STEAM library from a traditional library. I want students to learn to use computers to find research and reference materials online instead of print versions of reference books. 10 computers is hard for students to learn to use them correctly. If we get the chromebooks then I can have students practice what I teach them about reference books. If I don't get them then I will just show them the skills using my lap top computer and elmo projection. They won't get any practice.

Still Need Chromebooks in the Library

I could still sue the chromebooks in the library. Some of the grade levels have gotten a set of chromebooks but some have not. I could still use a set of chromebooks for our new Project Based Learning Curriculum. Each grade level has a different project. I could collaberate with the grade level teachers to offer library time to do research on thier projects. Teaching students how to research not just googleing is the key. Thank you for considetration of funding this project.
