1st grade
Our classroom provides a safe place for children to learn and explore. Roald Dahl said, "The more risks you allow children to take, the better they learn to take care of themselves." My all boys classroom is full of energized first graders ready to move and learn. They have high energy levels and are never lacking when it comes to participation. Our day consists of learning through cooperative learning, teamwork, whole group and individual learning. I like to mix it up! Our students are diverse and come from many backgrounds and ethnicities. All of our students participate in our school's free and reduced-price lunch program. My personal background is in Cognitive Neuroscience where I obtained my bachelors from USC. Studying motivation, engagement, and STEM learning truly brought me back to my roots of teaching our youngest learners. I returned to school to obtain my Masters in Education and I am a highly qualified teacher in the State of NV. Even though we face many challenges in society as teachers, I love being in the classroom each and every day. I hope to use the funds received from this Pledge to upgrade my small and old classroom to a full STEM 21st century classroom where students love to come as much as I do everyday.
