The Description

Spring Woods High School is part of the Spring Branch ISD school district in Houston, Texas. Our district has an aggressive 5-year plan to double the number of students who graduate from our district who complete some form of higher education – a technical certification, military training, a 2-year degree or a 4-year degree. We call that the T-2-4 Plan. At SWHS, we are doing our part to meet this goal by creating T-2-4 Success Communities on our campus. Here’s how it works: each student will start the school year on Monday, August 26th as part of a 25 person T-2-4 Success Community. These communities will meet once a week over the course of the school year and are designed to connect each one of our 2,000 students with an adult mentor who can guide them to post-secondary success. We’ve spent the summer developing our curriculum, and now we are asking your help to provide the funds to purchase a 1-inch binder and divider tabs for every student so he/she can build his/her success portfolio. As students fill their binders with personal statements, resumes, college essay drafts and financial aid forms, they are filling their futures with possibilities and opportunities. Back Up Plan

We are hopeful to raise enough funds to purchase portfolio supplies for the entire student body. However, if we do not meet our fundraising goal, we will use the investment to purchase as many binders as we can for our current seniors, as their graduation will be here before we know it.
