The Description

Focus is such a huge issue in classrooms today.  At Harry Stone Montessori Academy, I have 22 students in my room.  They are a mix of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders.  Our environment is a more independent, work at you own pace.  The students are always out of their desks and working on rugs throughout the classroom.  At times it can get distracting and a little noisy.  I would love to get some noise cancelling headphones for my students to use when they need to concentrate.  I would like to get between 5-7 of them so the students will have an opportunity to use them at different times.  I am also in need of a word study set.  This is a great tool to have in the classroom to teach the students everything from alphabetizing and compound words to using apostrophes, and so much more.  It is a big set and allows me to give a lesson on a certain area and then lets the students do the rest of the work independently.  Each area has 10 sets of work to complete.  My students would greatly benefit from having a full and complete set in the classroom.

Back Up Plan

If we don't reach our entire goal we will... use the money to buy however many headsets we can and/or the word study set alone.

Since the funds came in at the end of the year, I have yet to buy our word study and noise cancelling headphones.  School starts back up in just about a month so I will be able to order our items to help complete my classroom learning needs.  Thank you agian to all who invested to help us reach our goal, we truly appreciate it!!!
