About

We are a unique public Montessori and International Baccalaureate candidate school set in the lower social economic area of South Dallas, Texas. Our students are high achievers, but are grossly under-served when it comes to having a 21st Century Skilled learning environment. The academic rigor is demanding and students continually exceed expectations. We are just trying to meet them where they are by providing the Digital-Aged environment that they deserve. Our student population is approximately 500 serving grades PreK - 8th grade.

Brian Smith

Technology Coordinator

My educational passion is to get Harry Stone thinking about the digital age and how our students can use technology to make an immediate global impact. I have been in this current position for 1 year and our community has embraced the need to step into the 21st Century and face the financial challenge that it brings. My continued goal is to introduce our students, staff and community to new technologies, expose them to the power of technology in the classroom and most importantly, create an environment that meets our students where they are. We call this StoneAgeThinking!

Abigail Crabtree

theatre arts teacher

I graduated from the University of Tennessee with my Masters of Fine Arts. I have been teaching public school for 15 years. This is my second career. I was in the professional theater as an actress and director for many years, working and travelling professionally. Fifteen years ago, I decided to adopt a child and left the professional world for a career as a teacher. I love it. I feel having been a professional director I have a unique set of skills to bring to my teaching that benefits my students.

Megan Capshaw

Teacher

I have taught in Dallas ISD for 20 years in Texas and American History and Language Arts, Reading, Newspaper and Leadership. I also taught at a private school in Denver for three. I received a BA in History and English and an MLA all from SMU. Our middle school is currently in candidacy for the middle year's program in the International Baccalaureate program which is an exciting educational opportunity.

Heather Hawthorne

G/T Instructor

I work with Kinder through 5th grade students in the G/T (e.g. TAG, GATE) program at a Title I school in the south Oak Cliff area of Dallas. Last year some of the 4th Graders donated personal care items for a small group of elders at a nearby nursing home. Second grade took a field trip to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History to learn about floor plans and use of a public space. Third grade builds toys to learn about running a toy company. I would like to raise money for my students to purchase enough items to gift to more elders and all grades to take appropriate field trips for their topic of study, as well as purchase supplies for use in the classroom.
