The Description

With these funds I will be able to purchase various life forms to enhance our observation skills within the science classroom. As young scientists, it's important for students to be able to be very descriptive and analytical of the natural world. By simply observing real objects during our units of study, students will further awaken this important skill. We would like to purchase a large aquarium with various forms of fish as well as hermit crabs. In addition, we would like to purchase a display case to keep within the classroom. This would allow students to observe real "life" objects/ models during our units of study while keeping these items protected.

Supplies we would like to purchase:

55 gallon aquarium ~ $180 (1 unit)

We would also need some of the accessories such as the fish, pebbles faux plants and the backdrop.
Hermit crab starter kit ~ $60 (1 to 2 units)

We would also need to purchase a couple of hermit crabs.

A display case ~ $220 ( 1 unit)

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase various pieces at a time while finding some ways to try to raise the money to get this done.  Without these live creatures in this years units, it will be harder for my student to understand essential scientific concepts.
