With these funds I will...purchase class sets of Joy Hakim's A History of US.  It is an invigorating read of American History that is child-friendly, of high interest and relevant to the curriculum covered by Texas' state standards.  A review from Amazon's website reads "Joy Hakim has accomplished something close to impossible: a readable, thoughtful, even-handed narrative of American history, from the pre-Columbians to the end of the Cold War. The book is fun to read."  Her history series is broken into 11 books.  I have used class sets of Book  Four, The New Nation and Book Five, Liberty for All?, which I was lucky enough to purchase at Half Price Books for $1 each.  However, I have not been able to find any more in the past two years. 

I would like to purchase Books Two and Three respectively titled Making the Thirteen Colonies and From Colonies to Country.  Amazaon has used hardback copies listed at $6 per copy and I would like a class set of 20 for a total of 40 books.  Every $6 I receive will purchase one copy of a book.  Thanks in advance for passing this information on to anyone who can help.  Go America!
