The Description

With these funds my students will explore the fascinating world of dinosaurs, learning how fossils reveal clues about prehistoric life and how paleontologists reconstruct dinosaur appearances and behaviors. They will study iconic species like Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops, then use various art techniques to bring these creatures to life on paper. This project will blend science, history, and art, encouraging creativity while expanding their understanding of Earth's ancient past. The funds will be used to purchase Sax Sulphite Drawing Paper, as well as a variety of washable tempera paints, including fluorescent, glitter, metallic, and standard colors.

The elementary school where I teach art is an urban school with a diverse student population. Many of my students come from underprivileged backgrounds, and their access to quality art supplies is limited. Help me give my students the supplies they need to create their artwork. These materials will make a meaningful difference at a school like mine, where resources are limited.

Back Up Plan

This is my first time using this grant site, and I am excited to have the opportunity to raise funds for my students. To make up the remainder of the funds, I plan to use personal resources to ensure this project becomes a reality for my students. I have been teaching art for over twenty years. I am committed to providing my students with the best learning experience possible, and your support will be a crucial step toward making that happen.

About the Creator

I have been teaching art for over twenty years, with the majority of my career in the elementary school setting. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio, a teaching credential from Eastern Michigan University, and a master’s degree in educational technology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). I am proud to be the third generation in my family to pursue a career in teaching. My parents and grandmother all dedicated their lives to the profession.
As an art teacher, I find joy in helping students discover the creative potential within themselves. I love incorporating science, history, and geography into my art lessons, creating a cross-disciplinary approach that broadens students’ understanding of the world.
I live in Las Vegas with my wonderful wife and our two amazing sons.
