The Description
There are valuable learning opportunities happening every day that my students are missing out on. This year I want to bring Listenwise Premium to my students to ensure that they are making connections to what they are learning to the real world.
Listenwise Premium will allow me to create custom online assignments from the library of lessons that are standards-aligned and are designed to draw connections between the real world stories and the curriculum that we are covering. The lessons are engaging for all of my students regardless of current reading level and there are literacy supports such as interactive transcripts for my ELL students.
All of these features come at a small cost for my classroom. This is where you come in. Your generous investment will help bring the power of public radio to my students and help them build connections to real world events.
Here is the breakdown of our goal of $308.25 for Listenwise

I want to introduce students to podcasts!
August 13, 2020
Thanks for taking time out to look at my fundraiser to purchase Listenwise for my classroom!
What is Listenwise? In a nutshell, Listenwise is basically a digital library of student-friendly, relevant podcasts!
Just like reading a good book, listening to a gread podcast can transport you to a different world or expose you to news and information you would have otherwise never been aware of.
As a science teacher and podcast-lover, I want to bring quality, vetted podcasts to my students for the following reasons:
1. Media literacy and identifying fake news is SO important, now more than ever!
2. Listenwise has resources for student podcasting, something I would love to work on with my students.
3. It's important to slow down and just LISTEN.
4. Exposing kids to fine arts and non-profit news + organizations will help them grow as a whole human and enrich their lives.
5. We all have different learning styles. Auditory learning is often skipped over or not effectively used in the classroom.
