With these funds I will...

purchase materials for our Clay and Pottery Class.  Most of our students come from a low income socioeconomic enviornment.  The basic art materials such as crayons, markers, paper, and scissors are absent from many of their homes.  As a result, many of them have weak fine motor control and need help expressing their thoughts and feelings through art.  Renzi provides these children with a healthy enviornment and access to artists who serve as teachers, role models, and friends.  The materials purchased with the funds from this grant, will be put towards our Working with Clay class. Working with clay is a great way for many of our students to express their feelings and emotions.  Also, they are able to build and strengthen their fine motor control.  Learning and mastering an art builds our students' confidence.  Without these materials, these positive results will be unable to occur.  

Our students are wonderful kids.  While many of them come from low-income homes, they are always eager to learn.  They deserve the best.
