My Students Shine With Starrmatica

The Description

This year I want to expand my students’ access to learning opportunities through Starrmatica. By supplementing my teaching with Starrmatica, my students will be able to engage with over 5,000 digital simulations, activities, games, and assessments.

Using Starrmatica differentiated lessons and activities will allow me to meet students where they are at. This will increase student engagement and retention of the material covered. The platform can also be utilized on devices at home, giving my students access to learning software that would normally not be available to them.

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will continue raising money to purchase at least one classroom license which is approximately $375. We can use any funds that do not meet our goal to purchase supplies to continue and possibly expand our hydroponics garden in our greenhouse.

About the Creator

I have been teaching 5th grade for 11 years in Walker, LA at North Corbin Elementary. I love teaching Math and Science, along with working with plants and animals. We are experimenting this year with Hydroponic and Aquaponics gardening systems. We have a small scale system in our classroom now where we are producing cherry tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, and peppers. I have a great group of 5th-grade students who are hard workers and quite good with technology.
