Esther L. Walter School

Anaheim, California

About

Walter School was built in 1959 and was named after a teacher, Esther L. Walter, who taught in the Magnolia School District for more than 25 years. The school was the ninth and final school built in the Magnolia School District.

Our goal is to provide a safe and positive learning environment for all students. To fulfill our goal, the Walter staff provides rigorous Common Core standard instruction while utilizing the SMART Board throughout the day. Through the district adopted Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) students strive to achieve exemplary behavior and are recognized daily, both in classrooms and school-wide, for exhibiting the qualities of SOAR. (Safe, Open arms, Academic, Respectful)

Walter is extremely fortunate to have the support of the community and parents. Parents are involved in the student’s education through serving on parent committees such as: Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), School Site Council (SSC), English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC), and Parents Supporting Parents (PSP). Parents support the school by volunteering their time, family movie nights, book fair, food sales at school events and other school related activities.

Walter Students are empowered in their learning through the academic supports and special programs provided by the Walter School Staff and outside agencies.
