Glendale Elementary sits on Lee’s Summit Road just south of 23rd Street in the Independence School District. Glendale enjoys strong parental support and community involvement. The staff takes great pride in reaching and supporting the needs of every student by providing a caring and supportive learning environment. The Glendale staff constantly strives to better our teaching practices as seen through consistent improvements in student achievement. The Wizard of Oz Library features memorabilia from the famous film and one of its stars, Ray Bolger. Glendale is a sister city school with Megurita School in Higashimurayama, Japan. The school’s Japanese Club plans many cultural and educational activities in conjunction with the Independence Sister City program.
