About

The Village School of Gaffney was formed in 2002 after a group of interested parents came together to discuss alternative options of education for their children. The Village School of Gaffney (TVSG) was patterned after the Village School of Spartanburg founded by Rosemary Moore in 1991.

Mrs. Moore's vision was to create a cross-cultural Christian school where children were united by their willingness to work and learn. The curriculum was primarily influenced by the work of the great English educator, Miss Charlotte Mason, who established village schools in England at the turn of the last century. Miss Mason's academic emphasis was to put children in touch with nature and classics of literature, art, and music. Her approach was to offer a classical, broad-based curriculum to all children, regardless of economic or social background. This philosophy has proven successful for more than a century and for over 10 year here at TVSG.

Middle School Teacher

I graduated from Limestone College (GO SAINTS!) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I have also earned a Master’s in Secondary English Education and a Master's ESOL Education. I began teaching Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies at TVSG in October 2013 and have loved every moment. My husband and I were married the same month I started at TVSG and my son is a freshman at Broome High School. God has truly blessed me with two amazing families and I love being able to share his abundant love with them.
