My story is one of empowerment through education, I owe many of my best qualities to the educators and mentors that put love, care and effort into making me realize how much potential I have. I realize now as a young adult how fulfilling it would be to do the same for children who deserve positive affirmation as much as I did as a child. I also know how powerful the ability to be able to advocate for one’s self is in a professional manner and I cannot wait to help build this skill through encouraging writing and encouraging professional conduct in my classroom. My mission as an educator is to show my students how vital it is to be able to represent oneself in a professional manner via writing or orally, and how working towards mastering these skills allow them access to opportunities they might have not considered.
