#Get2ISTE

About

Get2ISTE is your chance to support the educators who are working around the clock to change the face of education for students across the world. The PledgeCents team created this account as a way of saying “thanks” to educators who inspire us. As a token of our appreciation, PledgeCents will waive all fees for Get2ISTE causes!

ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) hosts an annual conference that brings together the movers and shakers in education. Some of our most dedicated and passionate educators simply do not have the funding to attend ISTE, and that is where you come in! By supporting a Get2ISTE cause, you are providing an educator with the ability to continue to grow their impact. At the end of the day, the more we help our teachers, the more we help our student. Who will you help Get2ISTE?

Leslie Kinard

Assistant Principal

My entire career has been dedicated to helping students be at their best in the classroom and beyond. I am a firm believer that in order to continue to do this, continued professional development is needed to grow as an educator. One way to continue this growth is attending conferences such as ISTE 2015. This conference will allow me to take in new and innovative ideas so that I can share them with my students, teachers, and administration. Please consider helping me to increase my professional knowledge as lead learner and be able to better support teaching and learning in our schools.

Kharima Richards

Instructional Technology Specialist

My name is Kharima Richards and I am an Instructional Technology Specialist in Houston, Texas. I enjoy learning innovative ways teachers can integrate technology in their lessons and classroom to help prepare their students for the 21st century. I can remember when I was in grade school it was mainly paper and books. Now students and teachers have access to a wide range of resources ipad, chromebooks, and computers. I would like to attend ISTE to learn more ways the technology we have can enhance the learning of our students and provide real life experiences.

Cori Coburn-Shiflett

Educational Technologist / teacher

I'm a 21st century lead learner. I understand that when some people think outside of the box, they sometime get stuck in the circle of "what to do next?" I started my career in education by teaching math & science at the middle school level. Later, I was inspired into Educational Technology when my mother retired after 40 years of teaching, citing she didn't want to learn anymore about a computer. I have a passion for diverse, global collaboration in learning and technology integration into curriculum, regardless of devices. I am proud double alumna of Lamar University, where I earned my Master of Technology Leadership degree.I hope to start my doctoral studies in the coming year.

Katie Ann Wilson

I am a life long learner who brings a passion for educational technology with over 14 years educational experience in the public school sector. I am known all over the world through presentations as the go to person for augmented reality. I've reached over a MILLION students with Augmented Reality. I am the founder of the Augmented Reality for Education Google+ group. My blog The Diary of the Techie Chick has generated many new ideas in educational technology.

Megan Murphy

Director of Academic Innovation

I recently became the Director of Academic Innovation at Heritage Christian School. My role is to assist teachers and students Preschool-12 grade with technology integration and STEM. In the last year I've been able to add additional class offerings as well as after school clubs for our students. I was so inspired by the ISTE conference last year and all that it had to offer as well as the community boards that I participate in weekly. Unfortunately this year our state Title 2 funding was cut by over 75% meaning we do not have the funds to go this year. I had plans to take my team of media specialists, tech coaches and our new STEM teacher this year as we continue to grow in this area so that more teachers could be inspired like I was. I am asking for help to get us there this year, as I don't want to miss out on this great learning opportunity for myself and my teachers. We have great momentum right now and I don't want to lose that by not be able to participate in conferences like ISTE that provide us with great new ideas to continue to make learning fun for all students.
